Ingredients
- 1lb beef mince
- 1 large white onion
- 3 rashers bacon
- 2 tins chopped tomatoes
- 5 cloves garlic (minced)
- 2 tablespoons tomato paste
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 pint beef stock
- 1 tablespoon oregano
- 1/4 teaspoon chili flakes
- 2 bay leaves
- salt & pepper
- 1 teaspoon lea & perrins
Instructions
- Soften onions & garlic over a low heat
- Add bacon chopped into little bits and fry until fat is rendered
- Make space in the middle, add beef mince, and turn up heat to high to brown
- Once browned, add chopped tomatoes, herbs, salt & pepper, tomato paste, lea & perrins and stock
- Simmer for 1 hour with lid on
- Take lid off and simmer until reduced to desired consistency
